About This Project

This Pool House was built in a confined area with a well established garden surrounding the site. Extra care was taken to minimize our footprint during construction.

The Client wanted a solar pre-heat system for the pool yet did not want the visual impacts of conventional rooftop solar panels. As a solution, we designed a PEX tube system, that we installed under the roof, utilizing the thermal mass of the slate roof tile to absorb and hold solar energy.

The building's walls consist of Quadlock insulated concrete forms, and the roof was conventionally framed.

Other interesting elements include: closets with flipper pocket door hardware, infloor heat, Rocky Mountain Hardware throughout the building, a beautiful hand built fireplace with bread oven, Napa Valley Cast Stone pavers, elements and cladding throughout (the owner designed some custom pieces herself!), Spanish slate for roofing, copper gutters and downspouts, and tumbled limestone tile floors, wainscoting, and walk-in shower.
